Kuro neko Jiji means “black cat Jiji”, and “jiji” is both the name of a cute black cat in Miyazaki’s anime film, Kiki’s Delivery Service (Majo no Takyuubin), but also is a joking reference to my advancing age, since “jiji” also means “uncle” or “old man”.
I have several college degrees, including a Master’s in English Literature and I’m currently working on a Ph.D. All this really means is that I have a tendency to analyze what I read and watch and talk about it as if it were Great Art. Personally, I think anime often *is* great art.
I love to backpack, I practice karatedo and kendo, I’m a sumo fan and I run every day.
